As have many of you, we have been grappling with how we best prepare for the impact of COVID-19. As would be expected, first and foremost we care about the health and safety of the children we will soon serve, our staff, as well as our partners, donors and construction workers and our larger community.
Our leadership team has assessed the situation across the country and in our area. As the situation evolves, we will take the necessary steps to ensure that we are tending to the health of everyone involved at Cambia Hills.
We are consistently reminded that the children we serve are at great risk to themselves and others. These are the children we serve. Being admitted to Cambia Hills is not like an optional service, such as an elective surgery. Therefore, we must proceed as planned. We will, however, follow CDC guidelines for social distancing.
We will also postpone our Open House & Ribbon-Cutting Day scheduled for March 25th. We are anxious for the community to tour and celebrate this much needed facility for children. We could not in good conscience proceed with a large public gathering that could potentially put community members at risk of exposure. We will publish a new date for this event as soon as possible. Even though the event has been postponed, please continue to take the opportunity to help our kids without ever leaving home. If you would like to join the First Friends of Cambia Hills, please click here. Our Amazon Wish List is also a way to support us and you can easily access that here.
Please reach out to us if you have additional questions or concerns. Thank you for your support!
